Job Description:
We are seeking undergraduate students who can serve as technicians to help our consultants and workshop organizers. Broadly, the technicians will assist:
• The CCSS Research Support Unit consulting services address researchers’ questions on basic CCSS services.
• CCSS workshops technicians monitor questions and handle basic technical issues that arise. Technicians will have opportunities to receive training on a variety of computing software such as R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, Python, Qualtrics, Atlas,ti, MaxQDA, NVivo.

Specific responsibilities will include:
For Consulting Support
• Host virtual office hours and respond to live-chat requests
• Respond to researchers and clients’ basic technical questions (troubleshooting software applications, password resets, etc.)
• Manage zoom logistics for office hours (e.g.,creating zoom links, sending reminders to researchers, managing breakout rooms, and recording the sessions).
• Experienced technicians may be asked to assist CCSS Research Support consultants and staff on advanced IT or programming projects/questions.

For Workshop Support
• Assist CCSS workshops:
o Monitor questions during workshops
o Help debug basic technical issues that arise during workshops (for example, participant has problems installing or starting the software)
• Experienced technicians may be asked to respond to more advanced workshop-related questions
Both Types of Support
• Attend relevant training sessions as required by core staff
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Minimum qualifications:
• Experience with at least one qualitative, statistical, programming, or survey software
o R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, Python, Qualtrics, Atlas.ti, MaxQDA, NVivo
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Have past experience with customer/client facing jobs
• High organizational skills
• Available to work 6-10 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. (No after-hours or weekend work required.)

• Expertise in using social media in a professional setting
• Teaching or tutoring experience
• Programming or IT experience

Work Schedule:
Work takes place mostly during pre-scheduled blocks for consulting and pre-scheduled times for workshops. These are scheduled during the business week, M-F, 9-5. Prep time would also be during the business week. The actual times for a student would be selected based on the student's schedule. This position may be extended each term, based on performance and funding.
