Job Description:
Cornell students help us keep our archive at the forefront of our field. Specifically, we are seeking students who can provide inventory and scanning of historical polling questionnaires and reports from the US and around the world from the 1950s-1980s. We need students to be accountable for the following:

• Matching physical files to records in the database
• Scanning and uploading documents to the archive management system
• Writing abstracts to describe the content of questionnaires
• Interfacing and communicating with supervising staff and student workforce
• Adhering to workflow policies and processes
• Seeking clarification when necessary
• Supporting ongoing and future projects and working with team lead when applicable, such as reviewing and inventorying relevant datasets in the physical and digital archive

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Qualifications:
• Proficiency with computers and comfortable learning new software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Quick learner with ability to multi-task
• The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and in a team environment, be adaptable to change, and be seeking a long-term opportunity (2 semesters or more)

Preferred experience:
• Working knowledge of a database and database entry duties
• Experience with or interest in working with historical documents
• Familiarity with iPoll and an interest in public opinion data

Work Schedule:
• Schedule: Flexible with office hours between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
• Hours: Flexible with a minimum of 8 hours per week during the semester, up to full time during summer and breaks
