Title:
Ithaca Murals Program Assistant
Description:
“Ithaca Murals is an organization of people transforming gray walls into beautiful meaningful works of art that tell the stories of the diverse people who live here & what we care about. We implement a cultural arts strategy for decolonizing public space and building our community stronger. We welcome everyone to be involved with Ithaca Murals while simultaneously prioritizing the leadership of artists of color, artists with jail experience, low income & working class artists, women, youth, the LGBTQAI+
community, & other artists of traditionally marginalized identity groups. We have this inclusion model to challenge eurocentric patriarchal capitalism and because we recognize the well-being of all people is essential. Ithaca Murals offers this opportunity to three Federal Work-Study awarded Cornell financial-aid students to give them experience learning from and supporting people’s wellbeing in the larger Ithaca area.

Successful applicants are creative thinkers, enjoy working with others, have passion for undoing racism and other injustices, and have endurance for engaging in systemic change. It is necessary for Ithaca Murals team members to be able to meet downtown once or twice each week.
